Friday - Saturday 29-30/6/2018

Image
I've noticed how unique every sleep pattern is, but this one is on the more typical side - a first half where most of the deep sleep happens, a restless hour in the middle, then a second half where most of the REM sleep happens. A satisfactory well-balanced sleep achieving the critical minimum.

Thursday - Friday 28-29/6/2018

Image
After the hiccups of yesterday, overnight the tracker recorded successfully, and my sleep pattern was also back to normal. Although I only just achieved the critical minimum, it was a healthy well-balanced sleep.

28/6/2018 - THURSDAY MEDITATION NOT RECORDED

Image
WHY NOT?? I was in meditation for at least an hour!

Wednesday - Thursday 27-28/6/2018 - NO SLEEP RECORDED

Image
WHY NOT??

Wednesday Meditation 27/6/2018

Image
As with yesterday, a not-very-deep restless meditation, but good enough to achieve the daily target for brain-rest.

Tuesday - Wednesday 26-27/6/2019

Image
A satisfactory sleep in which I was unusually aware of cycling between the stages. Also unusual was that the calmest part of the sleep was the final third, usually the most restless.

Tuesday Meditation 26/6/2018

Image
A meditation of varying depth but with sufficient brain-rest to achieve the overall target for today.

Monday - Tuesday 25-26/6/2018

Image
This was a very "natural" sleep in that I went to bed when I felt tired and got out of bed when I felt awake. Coming on the back of a relaxed previous day and adequate brain-rest, I only needed just over the critical minimum 6 hours.

Monday Meditation 26/6/2018

Image
A refreshing and deep meditation that brought my brain-rest just 2 minutes shy of the critical minimum.

Sunday - Monday 24-25/6/2018

Image
A self-inflicted short sleep that I don't regret but wouldn't make a habit of! The sleep within itself was good quality. Interestingly I was so wide awake at the restless spike that I seriously considered getting up, but a wee and an eyemask helped me get another hour that was dominated by REM sleep, though I don't remember my dreams.

WEEKLY SUMMARY 18-24/6/2018

Image
I hotly dispute Monday's results, but even taking it at face value, it has been a satisfactory week for brain-rest, achieving the critical minimum.

Sunday Meditation 24/6/2018

Image
A satisfactory hour-plus to recover from the excitement of World-Cup soccer!

Saturday - Sunday 23-24/6/2018

Image
I gave myself just enough sleep opportunity to achieve the critical minimum this night, helped by a busy day and low restlessness.

Friday - Saturday 22-23/6/2018

Image
Another satisfactory sleep with healthy cycles between the stages, helped by providing adequate sleep opportunity and a day's exercise beforehand.

Thursday - Friday 21-22/6/2018

Image
Although good "sleep hygiene" doesn't always pay off, it did last night, producing a very average satisfactory sleep. I have learned that sunlight has no great impact on my sleep patterns, though I do use an eyemask for meditation to reduce distractions.

Thursday afternoon nap 21/6/2018

Image
A refreshing nap that felt longer than it was, but was nevertheless enough to push overall sleep over the critical minimum.

Wednesday - Thursday 20-21/6/2018

Image
It was just one of those nights where despite good "sleep hygiene" my bodymind was just slow to nod off and awoke early. I'm pleased I still got five hours in!

Wednesday Meditation 20/6/2018

Image
A satisfactory afternoon meditation, pushing my total "brain rest" over the critical minimum of 6 hours.

Tuesday - Wednesday 19-20/6/2018

Image
Both myself and Missus were just not sleepy at bedtime, so we read/Facebooked until 23:45, after which a well-balanced sleep followed, although not making the critical minimum.

Tuesday Afternoon nap 19/6/2018

Image
After a long spell of the tracker not picking up sleep, culminating in the debacle of Sunday - Monday, there was no problem with picking up today's nap (rather than meditation).

Monday - Tuesday 18-19/6/2018

Image
After Sunday night's dubious and contested results, both me and the tracker had a much better night, with abundant, healthy and balanced sleep and achieving the 7-hour target. As usual I stayed put in the restless final third, gaining crucial extra sleep.

Monday afternoon nap 18/6/2018

I notched up 48 minutes more sleep according to the tracker, though I feel I might have slept more.

Sunday - Monday 17-18/6/2018 - Half the sleep data missing!

Image
Though I went to bed late and was restless, I can assure y'all I was NOT wide awake in bed for three hours! Epic tracker fail.

SLEEP SUMMARY 11-17/6/2018

Image
I would contend that overall brain rest was better than this due to meditations being omitted, but even at face-value, it was an overall satisfactory week with the critical minimum comfortably achieved.

Sunday Meditation 17/6/2018

Image
In a "famous first", the tracker picked up Sunday meditation WITH SLEEP STAGES. The first part of this was actually nodding off on the sofa downstairs before transferring to the Consulting Room for meditation. Looks like I must have needed it!

Saturday - Sunday 16-17/6/2018

Image
I know it's been a good night when I don't remember much about it, and so it proved - plenty of healthy sleep of all types here. I attribute this to some minor sleep deprivation followed by a rather physical day yesterday.

Friday - Saturday 15-16/6/2018

Image
This sleep was two hours shorter than planned, scuppered by a fierce "urine boner" then post-wee, a tea craving and being pestered by two hungry cats. Oh well never mind. The sleep I did get was of reasonable quality, divided into two halves by a restless period ended by a traditional cure.

Thursday - Friday 14-15/6/2018

Image
This sleep is suspiciously too good to be true - the first 90 minutes were on the couch - not due to a bustup though! I felt as restless as the previous night but apparently slept a lot more. I'll give the tracker the benefit of the doubt and treat it as an unexpected triumph.

Wednesday - Thursday 13-14/6/2018

Image
An unusual sleep in being unusually flat for two thirds then very restless in the final third - I was in a limbo between being not asleep and too tired to get up. I did not use the "traditional cure" as I knew I would be "required" in the morning. However I'm glad I didn't get up because I did get bouts of sleep inbetween the wakefulness, so I ended up only just short of the critical minimum.

13/5/2018 - Wednesday meditation not recorded

Image
Due to other distractions my meditation was only an hour today. The tracker did not pick it up, but to be fair the trance was light and heart rate did not drop to sleep level.

Tuesday - Wednesday 12-13/6/2018

Image
One of those sleeps better than I remember it. Though there was the long restless spell in the middle, I slept well either side, though deep sleep was low and I'd mildly strained the left shoulder overnight.

12/6/2018 - Tuesday Meditation not recorded due to tracker charging

I spent a good 90 minutes in meditation today

Monday - Tuesday 11-12/6/2018

Image
This quality sleep was actually even better than tracked, as my alarm went off at 06:00, so sleep efficiency was actually in the nineties. I confused the tracker by being slow to get out of bed.  I don't know why this sleep was particularly good, though cool air and low humidity certainly contributed. Coupled with the hour's meditation on Monday afternoon (not tracked) I feel very refreshed.

Monday 11/6/2018 - Monday Meditation not recorded

Image
I had a good hour and felt better for it, though the tracker did not record it as sleep - sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't!

Sunday - Monday 10-11/6/2018

Image
A typical short Sunday night sleep compounded by early waking. It was however well-balanced.

WEEKLY SUMMARY 4-10/6/2018

Image
I actually slept better than this and definitely made the critical minimum - the tracker simply didn't register some sleep.

Saturday - Sunday 9-10/6/2018

Image
After some very unsatisfactory recording by the tracker, this one was spot-on - I was indeed woken from a dream by the alarm (though I can't remember what the dream was!) This is a very healthy sleep, undisturbed by wakefulness except when at 04:45 I needed a wee, a poo, a cup of tea and fed the cats to shut them up before returning to bed. After a period of dissatisfaction I am happy with both my sleep and the tracker on Saturday.

Friday - Saturday 8-9/6/2018

Image
Bah! Two hours of sleep data not recorded! Very annoying indeed! This sleep was in reality healthy and balanced.

Thursday - Friday 7-8/6/2018

Image
Though substandard, this sleep wasn't as disastrous as I imagined, getting within an hour of the critical minimum. Going to bed late was my fault, although the long restless period wasn't in my conscious control. It's a case of shrug shoulders and move on.

Wednesday - Thursday 6-7/6/2018 - Sleep data miraculously appears 24 hours later!

Image
Though the data should never have vanished in the first place, I am pleased to see it finally emerge as it was a good well-balanced sleep, actually better than I remember.

Wednesday - Thursday 6-7/6/2018 - no data recorded

Image
Boo! What a rubbish piece of kit! It clearly recorded my heart rate in sleep mode but not the sleep itself.

Tuesday - Wednesday 5-6/6/2018

Image
I did everything right to ensure good sleep conditions, but still achieved just short of the critical minimum. However at least the tracker recorded accurately this time and the sleep was well-balanced.

Monday - Tuesday 4-5/6/2018

Image
I was slow to nod off and woke up early, but there's still an hour missing from the end of this! I certainly wasn't wide awake for 80 minutes, and a nap during yesterday also wasn't recorded, so I'm sleeping better than the results suggest. It was nevertheless a lower quality sleep than I would have liked, but I made adequate sleep opportunity so it wasn't in my conscious control this time.

Sunday - Monday 3-4/6/2018

Image
A self-inflicted short sleep but with no regrets! I enjoyed the me-time, although I won't make an unhealthy habit of it!

WEEKLY SUMMARY 28/5 - 3/6/2018

Image
At first this looks like a "week of two halves", but I contend that Sunday was better than recorded. Even at face value however, it was a week of achieving the critical minimum.

Saturday - Sunday 2-3/6/2018

Image
I hotly dispute this result! I was woken by the alarm at 07:30 and certainly didn't spend 2 hours wide awake! Sleep was reasonably well balanced up to the end of recording.

Friday - Saturday 1-2/6/2018

Image
A substandard sleep with no direct cause other than on waking at 06:00 I wanted to get up.

Thursday - Friday 31/5-1/6/2018

Image
A good nicely-balanced sleep.
